Physical Education (PE) at NHGS
To cultivate a passion for lifelong learning and enjoyment of Physical Education where students constantly strive to ‘believe in their best’. Develop physical literacy, knowledge, understanding and confidence to lead a healthy active lifestyle. To enable students to develop core values, character and life skills to equip them for employment in their personal lives.

Key Stage 3
- Develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities: This includes developing skills, techniques, and tactical understanding across various sports and activities.
- To be physically active for sustained periods of time: This promotes a healthy lifestyle and encourages regular participation in physical activity.
- Engage in competitive sports and activities: This helps to develop teamwork, leadership skills, and a competitive spirit.
- Lead healthy, active lives: This includes understanding the long-term health benefits of physical activity and making informed choices about their own health and well-being.

- Encourage leadership and community engagement: Develop leadership skills and promote involvement in sports clubs, volunteering, and coaching through our L2 Sports Leaders elective and primary school links.
