Tonight was supposed to be our big Choral concert. Months of preparation was going to bring together a fantastic programme of music and all students and staff were really looking forward to performing it for parents and friends. The current situation meant that this concert was unfortunately cancelled.
In true NHGS style, members of the choral group that were in school on the 'last day' came together at lunch time for 20 minutes to record three of the pieces that they were going to perform.
Alongside this are other numbers we have recorded over the year in preparation for our choral tour to Paris - something else that cannot go ahead. We were due to perform in the Jardin de Luxembourg, Parc Montsouris and at Disneyland Paris. The concert on the 26th was our warm up to what was going to be a fantastic experience for all of our performers.
Please enjoy the fruits of their labour. They really are a fantastic bunch of singers and it's really the highlight of my job being their conductor/leader. I really have missed our Monday/Friday rehearsals this week. However, I think that the proof of how good they are is most definitely in the listening!
For those of you who enjoy listening to the choir at Christmas, this is what we sound like when we are not singing Christmas Carols!
Hopefully this will bring a smile to your faces at this time. Music is really the greatest thing for well being
