Welcome to NHGS Parents' Association (PA)! My name is Victoria Blackburn and I am now in my 4th year as a member of the group, having been a volunteer attending meetings and supporting events for the first 2 years, Secretary in my 3rd and now as Chair in my 4th year. I have been lucky enough to see first hand the impact we can make by working together to achieve our aim of enhancing, enriching and improving the learning experiences of our children.

We also have a great bank of volunteers who support in the background when they are available and we are always keen to welcome new people who would like to get involved, whether that is being part of the committee, organizing an event or just helping on the day. We can never have too many volunteers - every little helps! Just an hour helping by wrapping hampers / prizes, designing a poster, providing refreshments, updating our website, drafting a letter … it is all equally valuable and very much appreciated.
Other ways to support our PA include shopping online through easyfundraising, joining our Monthly Prize Draw and applying for Match Funding through your employer. These have all made a significant contribution to our fundraising over the last few years and require very little time and effort to support.
In October we will host a Year 7 parents welcome event. I know from experience that the move from Primary to Secondary school can be a difficult time for parents and this meeting will provide an opportunity to meet some parents of children in the same year group as yours and to learn a bit more about what we do.. Watch out for information on this nearer the time and I look forward to meeting you there.
Meetings
The PA meet the first Tuesday of every month, usually at the school, from 7.30pm.

If you would like to volunteer please follow this link. You can commit as little or as much time as you like and all help is very welcomed. It's a great opportunity for parents to actively support the school while building social relationships.
