NHGS 99 - A list of recommended reads for NHGS students and information about Miss Kent's Summer Reading Challenge
"NHGS 99 Recommended Reads" is a list of books that every student should aim to read before they leave NHGS.
Here are the books on the list for key stage 3 students (the first 33 books), this is good place for incoming students to start.
Happy Reading!

We look forward to welcoming your child to NHGS in September. The single most useful - and arguably entertaining - thing your child can do to prepare for secondary school life is to read regularly over the summer.
We will be setting your child our own summer reading challenge linked to our NHGS 99 programme. The NHGS 99 is a list of books that we hope Y7s will have read by the time that they leave the school in Y13. We would like them to make a start on the KS3 selection this summer.
Please show the list to your child and, through the summer holiday, encourage them to meet the 20 minute a day challenge - and aim to read 6 books, including at least one from the NHGS 99 list. Your child will be given a card on Transition Day to record and share what they have read with their English teachers and our LRC manager, Mrs Craven, in September.
There is a link to the card below.
